A NHADA Diamond PARTNERIn an innovative move that merges automotive advancement with emergency preparedness, Claremont Subaru has made a significant contribution to the Claremont Fire Department by donating an EmergencyPlug safety device specifically designed for electric vehicles (EVs). This thoughtful donation not only highlights the dealership’s dedication to community safety but also its commitment to embracing emerging vehicle technology.
The EmergencyPlug is a safety device engineered to address specific challenges posed by electric vehicles in emergency situations. Designed to safely disable an EV, this device is a crucial tool for first responders who increasingly encounter electric vehicles in their line of duty. With the rise of EVs on the road, the EmergencyPlug provides an essential tool for first responders when dealing with accidents or fires involving these vehicles.
Chief Jim Chamberlain of the Claremont Fire Department welcomed the donation with open arms, recognizing the immediate benefits it brings to the team’s emergency response toolkit. “Electric vehicles are here to stay. To be on the forefront of that technology and provide us with another tool to keep us and our members safe is really admirable of Claremont Subaru.” Chief Chamberlain explained.
Rob McDermott, the General Manager of Claremont Subaru, emphasized the dealership's role in helping promote EV safety by supporting their local fire department. “A little while back we heard there was a need at the local fire department for a tool to help our first responders safely disable electric vehicles. The information got to us, and we knew we had to help out.” McDermott remarked.
As Claremont continues to thrive, the bond between its residents, local businesses, and public service departments remains a cornerstone of its success. With the support of forward-thinking companies like Claremont Subaru, the Claremont Fire Department is better equipped to face the challenges of tomorrow and ready to protect and serve with even greater effectiveness.
