Make the Most Out Of Your Health Insurance Plan

You can make the most out of your Harvard Pilgrim health insurance plan by setting up your secure member account in three simple steps, using your member ID number from your ID card and creating a Username and Password.

With your online member account, you get quick, reliable answers to your specific information. You can get it all by phone, tablet, or desktop at www.harvardpilgrim.org. Your secure online account offers you a place to help manage your health care.

Look up benefits and claims history. See the status of your deductible and out-of-pocket maximum.

Your Activity Summary will outline the claims that have been processed for you during a particular month. The Activity Summary is not a bill. In fact, it is a great tool that lets you compare your provider’s bill with the information in your Activity Summary for accuracy. Your provider’s bill that you receive in the mail may or may not match the “Your Responsibility” column in this Activity Summary. It is a good way to see exactly what your health insurance plan is telling you that you are responsible for paying. Always check to see what you are responsible for before you pay a bill, so that you don’t run the risk of overpaying.

You can also take advantage of discounts and savings on eyeglasses and contact lenses, dental care, nutrition and weight management programs, sneakers, fitness clubs and much more. These savings programs are not insurance products. Rather, they are discounts for programs and services designed to help keep you healthy and active. For example, if you belong to a qualified health and fitness club for four months in a calendar year, Harvard Pilgrim will reimburse you up to $150 for you or the dependents covered under your plan.

Learn how preventive care and conditions are covered, such as asthma, diabetes, COPD and high blood pressure. You are able to check your Schedule of Benefits and Benefit Handbook, and much more! There is a list of preventive care services covered with no member cost-sharing when received from a Plan Provider.
