Victims of cardiac arrest have about a 10% chance of survival if administered just CPR. However, statistics show that victims have roughly a 70% chance of survival if an AED is administered within the first six minutes of cardiac arrest. With an AED increasing the chance of survival of a cardiac arrest victim by 60%, it should be a no-brainer that your business invests in one. Current NH AED laws provide both individual & organization liability protection for ownership & use of an AED in an emergency scenario.
Over the years, NH businesses have purchased Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) at discounted rates through NH’s “Direct Purchase” program, which is administered by the State of New Hampshire Department of Safety. Through this program, your business can purchase AED units for as low as $849!
The portable/mobile units include:

If you are considering purchasing one of these devices, you should have at least one employee trained in basic CPR and AED usage. NHADA has two CPR instructors including myself, and offers CPR training for only $25 per person. Once your employees are trained and an AED unit is purchased, you will have to register your unit with the NH Fire & EMS Academy to be added to the 911 database.
