On April 20, Governor Chris Sununu created a legislative study committee made up of one Senator and three Representatives to look into reimbursement rates in the collision repair industry when he recently signed House Bill 1663.
NHADA and its NH Collision Repair Advisory Group (NHCRAG) did not initiate the bill. However, once the bill was filed, we sprang into action, backing the bill and working for its legislative approval. Our work included testifying at hearings, educating legislators and making many calls and emails.
Special thanks go to Representative Dennis Green (R-Hampstead) for filing the bill, which originally was targeted at body shop mechanical work reimbursement rates.
Although committee members have yet to be named, the first meeting must occur by early June, and work must end by November 1, 2018.
The hope is that the committee will suggest legislation to establish fair and equitable reimbursement laws in the collision repair industry in NH.
Rest assured that NHADA and NHCRAG will be vocal and vigilant throughout the entire study committee process.
