NHADA ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES

Managing operations at a facility in the motor vehicle industry has become a task that has a multitude of elements. With this in mind, the New Hampshire Automobile Dealers Association (NHADA) has taken multiple steps to ease this aspect and provide valuable information, assistance, and services as a benefit of being a member of NHADA.

Over the past years, environmental issues affecting our industry have become a more prevalent and essential component of proper facility operations. For facilities, this means an enhanced workload and knowledge base in the arena of environmental law, environmental regulatory compliance, and environmental technology.

NHADA has taken an active role to alleviate the burden of handling environmental affairs by having an Environmental Specialist on staff. It is the role of the Environmental Specialist to assist members with a variety of environmental issues such as:

• Performing facility compliance inspections
• Interpreting present and pending legislation as it applies to members
• Conducting various training classes and seminars
• Participating in shareholder and State agency work groups and programs

NHADA's Environmental Specialist will provide guidance on compliance and Best Management Practices of environmental laws as they apply to member facilities and work with members to continually and actively reduce sources of hazardous waste, lower costs, improve efficiency, and provide and promote environmental benefit. The Environmental Specialist will continually assist facilities in reviewing options and developing action plans to achieve, ensure, and maintain compliance with all applicable environmental laws.

NHADA has taken a bold and novel step in this proactive approach to ensuring environmental regulatory compliance within our industry. This rare and unique approach has been recognized and is well respected by State regulatory agencies. NHADA and the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) actively work together to take part in a compliance partnership to ensure mutual benefit while pursuing our independent goals. This relationship has provided a great deal of benefit and only furthered NHADA's great reputation as a strong, socially responsible, and productive Association of members within our various communities, state, and nation.

The variety of environmental services provided by NHADA are in place to make operations smoother and facility management easier.
